High Strength Birch Laminated Veneer Lumber. Engineered for Bed Frames, Furniture Support & Structural Components.
High strength Birch LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) is an engineered wood composite specifically developed for applications requiring exceptional bending strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability. Unlike ordinary plywood, LVL veneers are arranged in a single primary grain direction, dramatically improving load-carrying efficiency under bending stress.
Ideal for bed slats, furniture frame support, sofa components, and engineered wood structural applications where consistent performance and repeatable machining are critical.

Unlike conventional plywood (cross-directional), LVL veneers are arranged in one main direction, allowing the material to carry bending loads far more efficiently. This engineering approach maximizes strength-to-weight ratio.
The optimized 11-layer construction delivers consistent MOR ≥150 N/mm² and MOE ≥15000 N/mm², ensuring reliable performance in demanding load-bearing applications.
The design concentrates strength where it matters most — the face and back layers where bending stress is highest.
Why this matters: During bending, the highest stress concentrates in the outermost layers. By preserving more effective thickness on face/back while optimizing core layers, we maximize MOR without sacrificing stiffness (MOE).
All LVL performance metrics are tested according to EN 310: Wood-based panels — Determination of modulus of elasticity in bending and of bending strength.
A sample is placed on two supports and loaded at the center until bending and failure occur. From this test, MOR (bending strength) and MOE (stiffness during bending) are calculated.
Project Note: For specific applications, test width can follow the actual product width required by the customer, provided the test setup and calculation method are clearly controlled.
Our LVL bed slats are manufactured to precise engineering drawings. The following specifications are examples of bed slat configurations we supply to furniture manufacturers.
